Wytze Russchen worked in the European Parliament as political adviser to Minister Willy De Clercq, former Deputy Prime Minister and European Commissioner. In 1999 Wytze became Press & Parliamentary Officer at BUSINESSEUROPE, the voice of European business. He performed similar functions for Dutch employers’ association VNO-NCW as of 2001. As Senior Adviser European Affairs, he returned to Brussels in 2004, charged with the Dutch EU Presidency. In 2005 Wytze founded Russchen Consultants, a PR/PA firm providing advice on government relations, communication and events. Wytze has served for seven years as the Director of the European Business Summit. Wytze has been in-house consultant to BUSINESSEUROPE for ten years, as Manager of the AS Group, which grew from 18 members (2005) to 69 in 2015. Wytze was the Director of three EC-funded civil society pre-accession projects (BOSMIP II/III/IV). Wytze is Chairman of Access2Europe, candidate for the European Parliament (1999 and 2004), author of ‘Het Oliemannetje' (2014), '#Post uit Brussel' (2015), ‘The Fixer’ (2016), international speaker and trainer and driving force behind many professional & societal networks. Wytze has been elected (2015) one of the ten most influential Dutch people in Brussels. In 2016 he was Knighted by H.M. King Willem-Alexander of The Netherlands.
